I spoke with Oilers Assistant G.M. Kevin Prendergast today and he confirmed that the Czech blueliner whom the Oilers drafted in the 8th round of 2003 will suit up the rest of the year with one of 3 Swedish Elite League teams that have offered contracts.
Prendergast assessed Hrabal as "not being patient enough with himself" adding he needed better work ethic. Hrabal was the 8th blueliner for the Falcons and with others returning from injury was not going to get enough playing time. He had registered just one point in 17 Falcon games, while picking up 4 assists in 8 games with Stockton earlier this season.
According the Oilers Assistant G.M. there were some bright spots from the D-man who was hurt during rookie camp in Camrose, and he is expected back at Oilers training camp next September.

I'm a bit confused here. Did Prendergest just say something negative about a prospect, or did I read that completely wrong?
In either case, if he can't get the job done at the AHL level at his age, we can do without him. There was a lot of hype surrounding him this offseason (as was with Chorney too, by the way) and maybe it all went to his head. Best of luck, but don't let the door hit you on the way out.
On another note, does this mean that Wild and Bisallion will finally get a regular shift with the Falcons?
Bisaillon is in Stockton. Wild would be in the E if he was property of just about any other NHL team's affiliate in the AHL.
Hrabal has signed with Modo, of the SEL (yes, Forsberg's team).

The Czech has been rented from the Edmonton Oilers.
– Obviously a player that we have a lot of confidence in, says Modo GM Ecke Holmberg in a press release
Josef Hrabal, 23, has another year on his contract with the Edmonton Oilesr, but has not been able to clinch a spot in the NHL.
– With this signing we have acquired some real depth for our D-corps, Holmberg finishes the statement.
Hrabal will join the team early in the week.
