Finally some meaningful World Junior round robin games

~
USA Hockey and the 2011 Buffalo World Junior committee announced a schedule and groupings this week. The full release can be found here.

The good news is Canada will face Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic all in the round robin. Norway is also in Canada's pool. I think this forces Canada to be sharp from the get go and prevents bad habits from setting in during 16-0 blow outs.

The other group has the defending champs Team USA, Finland, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland.

But again it appears as though the host and defending champ has a pretty easy road to the semi-finals. The US, like Canada in 2010, should be able to sleepwalk through the round robin.

Arguably, the 3 best teams are all in the same pool. Arguably.
