WJAC coaching staff named-Former Memorial Cup winning teammates going head to head in Semi-Final tonight

Here are the staffs for Canada West/East for the 2010 World Junior A Challenge this being held in a location to be named later. It's a tournament for the top 19 and under players skating in the 11 Junior A leagues across Canada and select nations around the world.

Canada west has reached the final the last 2 years and lost to the U.S. Before that the club made up of players from Manitoba-B.C. won it in consecutive years.

In the blast from the past department, former Brandon Wheat King goaltender Jomar Cruz is among the coaching staff. He came on the scene in the WHL at the same time I started covering it. The one time Washington Capital draft pick platooned with Jamie Hodson on a team that lost out to the Marian Hossa led Portland Winterhawks in the WHL final. Brenden Morrow was also terrific on that team that went onto win the 1998 Memorial Cup. Interesting to note the match up tonight between Hossa and Morrow with a berth in the Gold Medal Game. Speaking of that Memorial Cup, the leading scorer was from Slovakia and played in Portland, but it wasn`t Hossa. It was Andrej Podkonický who scored 6 goals and added 4 helpers in 4 games. He represented Slovakia at World Championships in the past but isn`t on the current team.
