Leblanc Leaves NCAA for QMJHL

~
Montreal Canadiens 2009 1st round selection Louis Leblanc has signed an entry level contract and will reportedly join the Montreal Juniors of the QMJHL next season. The Quebec native leaves Harvard after just one campaign at the highly regarded academic institution.

Here is the official release from the Canadiens.

Leblanc was taken 18th overall in 2009 after a near point per game season with the Omaha Lancers of the USHL. Despite constant questions about the QMJHL, Leblanc always held true to his promise of honoring his commitment to Harvard but now leaves the ECAC program after a single season. Leblanc led the Crimson in scoring with just 23 points in 31 games. His 11 goals were surprisingly also a team high.

It has been reported in Quebec that Leblanc will join the QMJHL's Montreal Juniors for the 2010-11 season.
