Oil Kings Stephenson taking a break

4 Year Oil King forward Colton stephenson is taking some time away from the club while he recovers from a pre-season concussion.

It's been a tough go for the Saskatoon product as injuries have limited him to just 70 total games entering his 4th season. His concussion problems go back a few years ago. In 2009-2010 he was injured in the same game as former teammate turned Oil Kings assistant coach Jesse Pearson. That was Stephenson's only game. Last year he suited up just 50 times.

Pearson's playing career ended because of his concussion and if was a betting man I would lean towards Stephenson following the same path. Whether or not he gets into coaching or not I don't know, but he will receive 5 years of university because his junior career is in fact over.

Hopefully things work out for a really nice kid.
