The Rodeo is Over

~
News today that the Lethbridge Hurricanes have continued their house cleaning by showing "Rodeo" Roy Stasiuk the door. This comes on the heels of the coaching change made last week when Michael Dyck was informed his services were no longer needed.

Here is the official WHL release.

Greg Drinnan has a recap of comments made by Stasiuk at the presser earlier today. You can find that recap HERE.

One more link to provide, it's Hurricane Watch, the blog of play by play man Pat Siedlecki in Lethbridge.

Stasiuk was on The Pipeline Show just 3 weeks ago, before the Bantam draft and the round of firings began in Lethbridge.

From the WHL's release:
"Stasiuk began his tenure as the General Manager of the Lethbridge Hurricanes in November of 2005 and the 2009-2010 season was to be his 20th in the WHL, Stasiuk has enjoyed several successes at the major junior level including two WHL championships in the 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 seasons and a Memorial Cup championship in 2002 as the Assistant GM of the Kootenay Ice. Most notably, he helped in building the Hurricanes 2008 Eastern Conference Championship team and the first Lethbridge teams to win back to back first round WHL playoff series’ in over 18 seasons."
So the winds of change are blowing hard in the WHL these days. Lethbridge, Regina, Chilliwack, Everett... all looking for new coaches or management teams. Prince George has their new coach but the carousel continues to spin.
