Calvert Crowned WHL POW

Thanks largely to his 5 point night versus the Edmonton Oil Kings, Brandon Wheat Kings forward Matt Calvert is the WHL's Boston Pizza player of the week. The full release can be found here.

Calvert has certainly picked up the slack since Scott Glennie went down with what is likely a season ending injury. With 10 points over 3 games, Calvert has helped the Wheat Kings lose just twice in their past 13 games. After a December injury the Columbus Blue Jacket prospect has 22 points in his past 15 games, and has 46 points in 42 games this year.

One other Brandon note, the Wheat Kings have launched the website for next year's Memorial cup. www.mastercardmemorialcup.com/2010.
