Bears leading the way in China

Canada is off to a roaring start at the World University Games in Harbin, China. The Canucks smoked the host country 13-0 in their opener and pouned Great Britain 11-2 in their second contest, they will face the Czech Republic next.

The 7 Alberta Golden Bears have been making quite the impact for Canada, as well as having Bears boss Eric Thurston behind the bench. Canadian captain Ben Kilgour netted 2 goals while fellow Bears Chad Klassen and Ian Mcdonald added singles. This after Brian Woolger netted a hattrick against China and goaltender Aaron Sorochan made 18 saves for a tournament opening shut out. Canada has outshot their opponents 149-37 in 2 games.

Hardly an accomplishment considering who they are playing. We'll see how they do in the tougher games.
