Sorting things out in the Nic of time

Tuesday night we welcomed one of our favourite guests to the show as Chris Peters from United States of Hockey joined Guy and I to talk NCAA eligibility.

Yes it's a fascinating subject and it never seems to get old.  While it would have been great to discuss Northeastern's great start or Penn States first 2 games of division 1, the big story is whether or not Nic Kerdiles will win his appeal and be allowed to play at Wisconsin this year or not.

Chris has good insight in the situation as he was previously with U.S.A Hockey, which had a direct route to the NCAA.  He was able to quote from a student hand book.  We discussed the Kirdiles situation directly and Guy wondered if 4 guys cheersing cans of Coke would get someone suspended for a year???

Later in the program we were joined by Kelowna Rockets voice Reegan Bartel.  The Rockets are the team that will gain the most if the appeal is denied.  They own Kerdiles' WHL rights and I'm sure the Anaheim Ducks who drafted him last year don't want him sitting out a year.

You can hear both conversations plus our CHL insider Sam Cosentino, our 2013 draft spotlight featuring Adam Erne of the Quebec Remparts and Inside the AJHL with Taylor Medak by clicking here and heading to our vault of past shows.

While you're there, vote on our poll question.  Will you still follow the CHL when/if the NHL lock out ends?
