Carbonneau To Coach Chicoutimi

~
TPS has learned that Guy Carbonneau will officially be named the new Head Coach of Chicoutimi in the next day or so.

The Saguenéens fired HC and GM Richard Martel earlier this week after an 18-22-4-6 record and 13th place standing in the QMJHL. He left his post as the league's all time wins leader with 589.

Carbonneau takes over the reins and gets back behind the bench for the first time since being fired by the Montreal Canadiens mid season in 2009. He was doing some broadcast work for Hockey Night in Canada.

During his 2 and a half years with the Habs Carbonneau, who has the best defensive forward award in the Q named after him, was a finalist for Coach of the Year in 2008 losing to Washington's Bruce Boudreau.
